Perched high directly above the Font de Gaume and Combarelles prehistoric caves, at the end of a picturesque hamlet called Le Repaire, you will enjoy breath-taking panoramic views over the quaint village of Sireuil, its 12th century roman abbey church and the Vézère Valley also known as the Vallée de l’Homme. providing you with a feeling of peace and tranquillity, and total privacy. A stone’s throw away from the Dordogne River Valley and its numerous imposing medieval castles of the Hundred Years’ War.
The Gȋtes form part of an ensemble of beautiful honey colour limestone buildings dating back to the 1830s, with one of the Gȋtes, named “Lavande”, being the original baker house for the hilltop hamlet, (the original baker’s stone oven beautifully preserved in the main bedroom!)
Surrounded by beautiful countryside, our Gȋtes and main house have been lovingly restored to provide comfortable rustic yet stylish self-catering, holiday cottages (Gȋtes) that come with a large, relaxing swimming pool and spacious sun terraces which benefit from one of the best panoramic views in the region!
The Gȋtes are available to rent all year round for holidays makers. Both are equipped with free WIFI. French and English TV channels are available. We speak English, French and Spanish fluently, therefore communication should be easy with us for any enquiries you may have during your stay! We welcome couples, families and groups alike. As our family includes a gentle dog, cats and hens (no singing cockerel though!), we regret we cannot accept guests’ pets. (but we can offer fresh eggs at a friendly discount!)
And, to guarantee an easy start to your holiday, we will be happy to offer you a complimentary “Welcome Basket” of local goodies including a bottle of wine, pâté and biscuits, as well as butter, croissants and a French baguette so that you do not have to worry for your first breakfast after a long drive. In any case, the local supermarket and baker are less than 5 minutes’ drive away! We can also prepare a simple but delicious rustic ‘local dish’ for your first dinner at Gȋtes de St Christophe (upon request prior to your travelling to us)!
