Welcome to the
Gȋtes de St Christophe
A haven of peace and tranquillity for all holiday makers!
We are John and Karen, the owners and hosts of this stunning Périgourdine property built in 1831 which is situated in the heart of Périgord Noir, the most scenic area of the Dordogne. Located in the UNESCO World Heritage village of Les-Eyzies-de-Tayac-Sireuil, world capital of prehistory, in the Vézère valley, we are close to Sarlat (only 19kms/20 minutes’ drive) and the Dordogne valley, yet situated in a peaceful rural location with surrounding grounds of woodland and meadow.
We currently have 2 x one double bedroom gîtes, named “Lavande” and “Tournesol”, providing a total of four-adult accommodation. Lavande and Tournesol may be rented separately or together.
Karen is a native of Brittany, France, whilst John originates from Jersey, the English Channel Island off the coast of Normandy. After travelling a lot separately, for pleasure and work, we met in the cobbled streets of Jersey, Karen was working in finance, John was a policeman, we fell in love at first sight, and married in Brittany where most of Karen's family is from. We both love discovering new countries, cultures and traditions but we always had the dream of living in the countryside of La Belle France.
After 25 years of hectic professional lives, we decided to 'jump' and chose Périgord Noir for our new home as we instantly fell in love with the villages of Les Eyzies and Sarlat during our first visit here in 2006! Karen has a passion for history and castles, John adores nature and is fond of long walks in the countryside with their dog Elton....
We are now living the dream and we will be delighted to share with you our love for Dordogne and Périgord Noir.
